ABOUT

From the Bottom Up
You’ll notice that you’ve been taken to the bottom of the site from our landing page. You can navigate up to the next page using the arrow on the top of each section. This mimics the bottom-up approach of feminist community organizing, and to start from the most important needs (namely safety and access to resources) and build from there. (You can use the traditional menu navigation in the right corner, too.)
A Place to Start
Feminist Organizing Toolkit (FOT) contains information and interviews around creating networks for safety, accessing and supporting resources, expanding knowledge around our current political context and people organizing within it, and tactics for organizing with others to keep each other safe.

FOT doesn’t contain any tangible, location-based resources, meaning we’re not saying if you go here you can get this. While collecting these kinds of resources is important, FOT is more concerned with a broader look at how we can organize to keep access to resources and stay safe as the U.S. government is failing to protect its residents, and will actively take resources away. This toolkit suggests small ways to begin the work with others. We keep each other safe. We have to. And by putting these resources on the web, we hope to make them as accessible to as many people as possible. This site is a living collection that will expand and alter with time and engagement.

Feminist Organizing Toolkit was created by Saachi Mehta and Avrie Allen at the Rhode Island School of Design.
